What is Waygu?

Wagyu beef is the beef that comes from the Japanese Wagyu cattle. It is often more expensive and regarded as one of the best cuts of beef. There is a lot of marbling in the meat, which means that there are streaks of fat within the red meat which makes the meat more tender and moist, while adding flavour.
Sometimes the Wagyu beef is called different things based on where it is from, for example: Kobe beef, Matsusaka beef, or Omi beef.

About Us

We are a locally owned and operated family farm, located in the heart of the Manitoba Prairies. In addition to raising premium quality Wagyu Beef, we also run a 1700 acre dairy farm that milks 380 dairy cows.

On our farm, we produce all our own forages for the entire herd. We have won many prestigious awards, including an all-Canadian award at the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto, ON. We also have won numerous milk production awards.

The farm began over 65 years ago when Ben Penner started with 11 cows, and three generations of the family have worked to build it to what it is today, with the fourth generation (pictured) ready to start learning.

LOCATED JUST OUTSIDE OF STEINBACH, MB.

Cow In The Farm

Our Wagyu Holstein cross are fed a predominantly grass-fed diet until 15 months of age.  After this age they are transitioned to a seven ingredient finishing diet developed with the guidance of a nutritionist, creating a premium quality product.
